Dr. Allen Carnes

Compassionate care from surgeons who devote their lives to their patients

Dr. Carnes received both his undergraduate and dental degrees from The Ohio State University and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency there in 1986. Dr. Carnes’s father, Virgil Carnes, had been practicing oral surgery in the Columbus area for more than 40 years when Allen joined the practice following his residency. A native Ohioan, Dr. Carnes was born and raised in Upper Arlington.  He has two grown children, one married and living in Colorado while pursuing a Master’s degree in teaching, while the other is one year from completing law school.

An ardent outdoors-man, Dr. Carnes enjoys hunting and fishing in locations ranging from Coshocton, Ohio to the South American country of Chile and many places in between. Additionally, Dr. Carnes dedicates long hours to his Upper Arlington garden which, in 2004, won first place in the Organic Gardening magazine national contest. This same garden has been featured a number of times over the years in the Columbus Dispatch. Dr. Carnes is also active in supporting the ALS Association, giving freely of their time to help with fund raising activities.
